About Us

As a hiring manger for the last 10 years working for companies like Microsoft, CareerPath.com (Now CareerBuilder), and a half dozen other established and start up companies, I've interviewed hundreds of prospective candidates, and seen tens-of-thousands of resumes. I've worked with recruiters, human resource departments, and have used all the services designed to match candidates with open positions I was advertising for.

Through all of that, the state of the job search industry is still very fragmented and extremely inefficient at connecting candidates with hiring mangers.

Each advertised job gets more than 600 resumes. Only 10% of all jobs are fill through advertising, career sites like Monster, CareerBuilder, and others show job seekers less than 1% of current job available today!

Market fragmentation only begins to define the problem that job seekers encounter. The best candidates are usually not hired for open positions because getting hired is more about who you know and not so much about who is the most qualified.

You can throw a lot more technology at the problem, but still the job search industry is far from getting the best candidates in front of hiring mangers for consideration.

While the industry will go through more consolidations, growing pains and technology maturity, the sad consequence is that the inefficiencies in connecting people only adds to the profits of career sites.

As hiring mangers and job seekers, we can't wait years and years for the job search lotto to turn around and make it easier and more efficient for job seekers to connect with hiring mangers.

My experience has shown me that when a job seeker takes control of the job search and makes use of practical, easy-to-use-tactics and technology, that the job seeker's career will benefit in the following ways:

  • Save weeks or months on a job search
  • Find at least 90% more job openings
  • Employers and recruiters will search for & call you!
  • Be invited to more interviews
  • Feel more confident about the job you land

The Internet has changed the way candidates and employers connect, and in my opinion, unless you optimize your methods of getting work, you miss out on many opportunities. Hiring managers want to find you, but when faced with an average of 600 resumes for each advertised job, and a plate already full of normal duties, it is quite hard to get their attention.

This site isn't for everyone. What I share are proven tactics for job seekers who already know the kind of job they want. If you are changing careers or not quite sure what your next step is, this site may not be the best resource for you until you've found your new focus and direction.

I hope you find this site helpful in your job search and that your career will benefit from the free tactics that are shared here.
